It’s the very last thing I expected when I stepped off the Eurostar at St. Pancras station yesterday. The UK has a certain reputation where the weather is concerned, so imagine my surprise when I found out that I’ve unknowingly walked into Britain’s first heat wave in three years.
Now granted, after just spending the better part of a week freezing my bits off in Switzerland amidst endless fog and rain, I was quite pleased to see the sun shining and feel the warmth of its rays on my face.

To quit or not to quit - that is the question.
Now it may seem like I am talking about smoking or something like that here, but I’m actually not. What my dilemma is really centered around is what to do about my personal training sessions.

It is not uncommon for a William Wood-Write customer to wonder how he is going to get all his newly purchased woodworking supplies home and into the shop without his wife asking just how much money he is actually spending on his hobby. more…

Our whole day got turned upside down yesterday. It eventually righted itself but not until we’d come to a few realizations.

Last night, while shopping at the Cambridge mall, I heard dogs barking.
At first I thought I was imagining things, but because I had time to kill before my hair appointment, I decided to investigate. As I rounded the corner and came to the “get your picture taken with Santa” booth, I couldn’t believe my eyes. more…

I was procrastinating a bit yesterday - taking many breaks from a big project I’m finishing up in an effort to stay motivated. It was hard though. And the weather didn’t help either. It was dark and miserable all day, with rain falling randomly all afternoon.
I was still in my comfy pjs after 7 pm. Now I tell myself that I can work better when I’m comfy to try to justify this behaviour. But that is not really the case. Nor is it really the point of this post. This is: more…
