It’s strange this year.

Today is the 14th of December and I’ve only received two Christmas cards so far. Usually they start trickling in around the beginning of the month and keeping coming right up to Christmas…but this year not so much.

Which leads me to wonder why. I’m seeing as many of them in the stores as ever before. More of my friends make their own cards, which is even more of an incentive to send them out. And I even made my own and sent them out – weeks before Christmas this year, thank you very much. That hasn’t happened in years.

As an aside, I’m also totally admitting to procrastinating on work right now, which could be why I’m spending time wondering about Christmas cards along with many other random things – just thought I’d set the record straight on that one.

So it really comes down to two things. Either Christmas cards are on the decline, along with so many things people used to do and now find they don’t have time for any more.

Or I’m just not as popular as I thought and need to not measure my self-worth by the number of Christmas cards I get.

Ok, and then there’s a third – time to get back to work and stop wasting time!

If Christmas cards are on their way out, clearly I am too. Damn! And for the record, I loved the home made card that you sent me.

  2. Well, it WAS a lovely design you let me borrow…and all the materials to make it with:)
